This week’s guest is Andre Novoa of Games Omnivorous. We talk about Mausritter Month (Nov. 2025), a group-collab project featuring an all-new setting for Mausritter JUNK CITY alongside an abundance of fantastic new works from sixteen of Mausritter’s community of third-party creators, including our own Tiger Wizard and Joey Royale’s Tails from the Night Market, a collection of darkly whimsical adventures for exploration, mystery, and horror beneath the carnival’s painted smile. Mausritter is an ENNIE Gold Winning (Best Family Game 2021), rules-light tabletop RPG, developed by Losing Games in collaboration with Games Omnivorous, and published by Exalted Funeral.

MD 409 – Messy Mass of Mice (M³) w/ Andre Novoa
The Messy Mass of Mice (M³) is an intelligent hive-mind swarm created by the grossest of necromancers. Entire ancient civilizations have been wiped out by previous M³s. Its sole drive is to feed its forever-hungry mouse swarm more rotting food and flesh. It loves urban settings.
This amalgamation of undead mice, trash and rotting food is an amorphous mass that can take on different forms. If it isn’t stopped, it will continue growing until it overtakes the world.
Day one, it’s the size of a small human (150 lbs.). Two days, the size of a grizzly bear and weighing about a ton. Three days, the size of a bus (5 tons). A week, the size of a town. Two weeks the size of a large city. A month, the size of a mountain. Six months, the size of a country. After a year, the planet is a Messy Mass of Mice.
Assimilation: It fires out a single mouse, or overwhelms with its swarm. The undead mice want to crawl into your mouth to gain control of your mind. If a M³ mouse is inside of your body, you are under its sway and are a mindless drone who’s only goal is to bring it more trash to build its size.
Zombie Lord: Anyone who dies after being bitten by M³, rises from the dead as a zombie who serves the M³.
Dumpster Diving: This teleportation ability allows M³ to move from one pile of trash, and emerge from a different pile of trash.
Trash Juice Trail: It leaves an infernal trail of garbage water that magically never goes away until cleaned with bleach.
Aura of Stank: Within 30 feet of M³, or its trash juice trail, you must save or be sickened. Touching M³ transfers an aura of stank onto you until the soiled area is cleaned with bleach.
Swim: It’s a good swimmer, but it contaminates any water source that it goes into.
Weakness: Cleaning products, particularly bleach (sodium hypochlorite – NaClO).
Treasure: Inside of M³ are wonderous, yet gross treasures.
